The Markets garden

Another valuable service is the link between the Rundu Open Markets and its Vegetable and Fruit Gardens, which connect the producers, traders and sellers. The gardens are managed by some of the women working at the Markets and are promoted by the Market operators. When the harvest is ready, it is advertised on the notice board at the Kehemu Open Market. Here the informed buyer can also get an idea of the Market prices.

The Likoro Garden  is only 1km from town and can be reached by foot, thus saving time and money to the traders who usually have to bear expensive transport fees. For the Market women, the cumbersome transport problem is now a thing of the past.  The vegetables from the "Siya" Garden are dropped right at the Rundu Open Market, where the vendors can buy at a wholesale price.
